Nakilat, officially known as Qatar Gas Transport Company, was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Doha. Beyond shipping, Nakilat operates the Erhama Bin Jaber Al Jalahma Shipyard, delivering ship repair, offshore construction, and engineering services via Qatar Shipyard Technology Solutions and Qatar Fabrication Company.
As Nakilat expanded its operations, managing enormous volumes of data across two distinct landscapes became increasingly challenging. Confronted with the limitations of its legacy SAP ECC system, the company recognized the urgent need for a unified, agile, and scalable digital platform. This realization sparked Nakilat’s transformative journey to streamline operations, enhance resource management, and build an integrated ecosystem capable of supporting its long-term growth.
Excellence Delivered (ExD) partnered with Nakilat to implement SAP S/4HANA—a transformative, end-to-end ERP solution that redefined the company’s digital capabilities. The project involved a comprehensive conversion from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, addressing the complexities of two different operational landscapes. ExD not only migrated Nakilat’s core systems to SAP S/4HANA but also integrated additional modules such as SuccessFactors for HR management and Ariba for procurement. One of the standout features of this implementation was the incorporation of multiple customized Fiori apps and third-party solutions’ integration which were tailored specifically to Nakilat’s unique business requirements.
